Nous –
The sound in itself

This sound sculpture originated from the stories told by different people in my immediate vicinity. Through sound analysis, the narrations were reduced to a point where they can hardly be understood. Removed from rational comprehen-sion, fragments of speech are reduced to mere sound, which moves in a composed way from loudspeaker to loudspeaker into the space. Repetition, intertwining, and time dislocations serve as metaphors for the infinite complexity of life.
Through the rearrangement and overlapping of individual sounds and word fragments, the texts become polyphonic, multi-layered, rhythmic. They are experienced in several dimensions, and can no longer be rationally classified.
